How to Install our Scout Brand Theme for Microsoft Office on a Windows PC

Download the Theme Files

You will then need the Theme files for Microsoft Office.

The ZIP file contains the following files:

  • The Scouts.thmx
  • Theme Colors/
    • The Scouts.xml
  • Theme Fonts/
    • The Scouts.xml

Install the Theme

  • Navigate to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes

  • Extract the files into this folder

Download Template

You will then need the Template files for Microsoft Office.

The ZIP file contains the following files:

  • The Scouts.dotx
  • The Scouts.potx

Install Template and Style Set

Copy the files to both of these locations

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\QuickStyles
  • C:\Users\<user>\Documents\Custom Office Templates

Use the Theme and Style Set

You should now be able to create new documents using the templates or apply the Theme and Style Set to existing documents.

How to Install our Scout Brand Theme for Microsoft Office 2016 on macOS

Download The Theme Files:

The ZIP file contains the following files:

  • Style Sets/
    • The Scouts.dotx
  • Templates/
    • The Scouts.dotx
  • Themes/
    • The Scouts.thmx
    • Theme Colors/
      • The Scouts.xml
    • Theme Fonts/
      • The Scouts.xml

Install the Theme

  • Open Finder

  • Menu > Go > Go To Folder (or ⇧⌘+G)

  • Paste: ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content

  • Copy and Paste, or drag the Style Sets, Templates & Themes folders from the Zip Archive to User Content.

New Documents

From the New Document window, click the Personal Tab.

Word

Select the Design tab on the ribbon and then Theme; apply the Scout Brand Theme.

This will not use the style set, expand the style set box, and the Scout Style Set will be under Built-In at the end of the list.

Powerpoint

Select Design tab on ribbon, the Scout Brand theme should be the second in the list.

Excel

Select Page Layout tab on ribbon and then Theme, you can then apply the Scout Brand Theme.
